Researching Gaming

My name is Alysia. My class was assigned to create our games based off S.T.E.M. If you did not know what it means it's Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. I have added a Research Link area to my blog the links listed were the ones I used to get to know more about online gaming and how it works in general. I am pretty sure that my game will be a educational health game. It will fall in the "science" genre. My game is not complety final, yet I have gave it much thought. I would like to base my game off of the skeletal system. When my players play I want to keep them fully engaged and interested. I mosre than anything want them to learn something from it!!!!

Stem Gaming

While playing the stem games I learned many diffrent things. My favorite game was called the "drift runners". If you don't get anything else out of playing this game the one thing I am sure that you will take from it is patience! Once you get skill in the art of manipulating the car the game becomes easier... Overall I think the most important think when playing stem games is to try to learn something educational from each game you play. The link to the game is :

Gaming Reviews!!

I have been playing a lot of games. Most of them are pretty good in general. I enjoy playing games and it's nice to be learning something at the same time! My favorite type of game is defenatly the racing games. It is hard to mix racing with education, but some students are masters at it. Thus far, this class has been really enjoyable. (apart from me accidently editing the school's wiki instead of my own and Mr.Carroll dying) I hope that I can make a game as good as some of the games I have played!

Importance of privacy on the net!!

Technology is improving every day. Which means, we have many new and useful tools. These tools are both a blessing and a curse, because the new technology can also be used against us. In today's time people are breaking into a complete stranger's bank accounts! That's a small problem as compared to online hackers stealing a person's identity! I know the effects of not being safe on the net.. My grandmother had a credit card and she checked her balance on a public computer in a libary. (really bad idea) Well, lets just say that a few weeks later she got her credit card bill it was about 10,000 dollars. We all need to be safer on the net. When you get on the computer just think your putting your whole life out there.

                                                                                                 

My Wiki Experience

At first when I saw all of the codes you need to know hoe to use I was shocked. I asked if it was even in English!! By the third or fourth day I became more fimiliar with it. I messed up many many times :) Later, I figured out how to do diffrent things on Wiki. I have learned how to get my avatar up it's really cute. Then I put up a couple paragraphs about myself. I'm really starting to like Wiki. One of my favorite things I have learned to do on the Wiki is to upload pictures. I really like doing this it's a great way to express yourself! After I get fairly good in using the Wiki materials I plan on making my wiki page much better than it is now!

School Life

In today's high school's we face many diffrent problems depending on who you are and how things effect you. In my high school we have our own fair share of problems. Most of us has been bullied at least once while here on our 4 year stay. This seems to be a big problem at Logan High, so much so that we were in the news paper about our problem. I think it's sad really. People should under stand that no matter what it's never right, funny, or intertaning to verbally abuse someone. And in today's technology most bullying isn't done face to face it's done over the net. I think that is immature and cowardly. Hey people stop and realize were all on the same team. We are all teen agers, all well most of us go to the same school, and we have many more things than we think in common. Finally, people we are in high school almost adults can we please start acting like adults or at least human's with hearts!!!!!
